Israel is a multicultural society. That is a descriptive fact. Can it also be a normative vision? Can Haredim, Arabs, Mizrachi traditionalists, Ashkenazic secular, and many more, be fully supported in flourishing communities, and simultaneously brought together in a shared sense of purpose? We will look at texts written at Shaharit and elsewhere, exploring the road not taken.
