Does Orthodox Judaism discriminate against Jewish women? A lawyer's view

Following a successful campaign against the Bet Din, Dr Alexis Brassey considers to what extent Orthodox Judaism could allow women to significantly expand their role in Jewish shul life. This session will explore the halachically acceptable opportunities of women's aliya, anim zemirot and megila reading. It will also examine discriminatory attitudes of those who exclude and propose solutions.
