This talk will look at specific works by artists that have addressed this contested region. The artists include Francis Alys, Catherine Yass, Richard Hamilton, Marine Hugonnier, Efrat Shvily, Ahlam Shibli, and Emily Jacir.
Mark is a curator and art historian, working at Tate Modern on exhibitions of Gerhard Richter, Francis Alys, and others. His book 'Abstraction and the Holocaust' looked at post WWII American art. He taught at UCL for six years.
