This workshop explores photographic portraiture as a critical, empathetic practice – a way of caring about Others. After exploring key influences on my photographic practice – including Arnold Newman (the Jewish-American portraitist) and humanist reportage photographers (e.g. Cartier-Bresson, Mary Ellen Marks and Salgado), the workshop reflects on Glenn's exhibitions as a way of countering stereotypes of Muslims, Jews and Sikhs.
